What is the best mattress for baby crib?

This question is on the minds of many expectant and young parents. The elements of our baby mattresses are clearly thought out and must pass a series of tests. What should I pay attention to the mattress core?

As one of the main components of the mattress, the material of the mattress core plays an important role. Since the spine of a baby is not yet fully developed, it is important to choose a point-elastic mattress core. In this way, the spine is optimally relieved of pressure and yet supported. This provides the perfect conditions for your baby's development.

In principle, all foam types are suitable for use in the baby crib. However, there are differences in air permeability and point elasticity. Most of our models are made of cold foam. This has better air permeability than conventional soft foam and adapts perfectly to the body.

Some models are also made of special foams. These special foams are mostly cold foam with refinement and therefore more air permeable than normal cold foam. They also provide better relief for the spine.

How hard may a baby mattress be?

To ensure that your baby is bedded down in an ergonomically effective manner, a point-by-point elastic mattress core is required. This optimally relieves the spine of pressure and yet still provides support – for healthy development. Excessively hard mattresses are not suitable for the soft bone structure of a baby.

What features should a good children's mattress have?

The following functions and features are available for our baby and children's mattresses:

Integrated moisture protection in the cover: If small amounts of liquids are spilled, the mattress covers "sleep saftey" and "sleep dry" stop the moisture on the surface and the mattress core remains dry. For example, if your baby's diaper gets too full during the night.
Divisible cover: All mattress covers are removable, some are also divisible. If something happens, simply divide the cover. Put the bottom side up and continue sleeping on it. Meanwhile, wash the dirty top side.
Suitable for allergy sufferers: All materials used must be tested for harmful substances and suitable for use in baby beds. Look for seals of approval from recognized testing institutes such as Oeko-Tex.
Baby and toddler side: To protect the spine, some mattresses have a baby side and a toddler side. From a weight of 12 kg, the mattress can be turned.
Safety step edge: Safety step edges are recommended for the first attempts to stand in the baby bed without sinking in. These are slightly firmer than the rest of the mattress.
3D comfort pads: 3D comfort pads relieve pressure where it occurs. This ensures a perfect body fit to protect the spine.
Air cushion: An air cushion pad ensures unparalleled air permeability in baby mattresses. For maximum freedom to breathe and less sweating.

What are the differences in the mattress cover?

When choosing a mattress cover, look for natural materials such as cotton or TENCELTM. Especially the natural fiber TENCELTM absorbs more moisture and thus reduces sweating of your baby.
