What does the TOG rating mean for sleeping-bags?
The TOG rating describes how warm a sleeping-bag is. The higher the rating, the better the sleeping-bag retains heat. Choose the TOG rating to suit the room temperature:

Always choose a sleeping-bag to suit the room temperature, not the outside temperature.
The ideal sleeping temperature is 18–20 °C – your baby’s neck should feel warm but not sweaty.
Which TOG rating is suitable for whom?

Children who run hot: opt for a lighter version (0.5–1.5 TOG)

Moderate to cold sleepers: (2.0–2.8 TOG) are ideal
Finding the right size
The ideal size for your sleeping-bag is determined by your baby’s height: from the shoulders to the toes + 10 cm = the perfect sleeping-bag size.
There should therefore be around 10 cm of space between the baby’s feet and the end of the sleeping-bag to allow plenty of room for kicking.
